The was the standard bolt-action service rifle family of the Imperial Japanese Army from 1897 until the end of World War II in 1945 . Named after Lieutenant General Arisaka Nariakira, the commission leader who designed the initial model, these rifles are renowned by collectors for possessing some of the strongest military bolt actions ever produced.
