The story of the film follows Emma, an "Afropean" woman of French-Cameroonian descent, who finds herself in a desperate situation in the Dominican Republic. After being arrested for drug trafficking at the Santo Domingo airport, she manages to escape custody following a dramatic vehicle accident.
