The following methods are the only officially recognized ways to request your federally mandated free report:

A "free TransUnion report" typically refers to the federally mandated full-disclosure report you can obtain without a subscription. Federal law grants all consumers the right to access a free copy of their credit file from each of the three major bureaus—TransUnion, Equifax , and Experian —every 12 months.
