Set in the 1931 Yukon Territory, the story follows Albert Johnson (played by Charles Bronson ), a stoic and isolated trapper. The trouble begins when Johnson rescues a severely injured dog from a brutal dogfight, forcing its owner, Hazel (Ed Lauter), to take a payment of $200.
