: This signature feature was actually developed for the truck first. The clown head on top of the vehicle featured a personality of its own, which designers later applied to the driver himself starting with Twisted Metal 2 .

: The lead character, Gus, is a deer-human hybrid. Developing his look required six months and numerous concept sketches to balance "animalistic features" with "human innocence".

Adapted from Jeff Lemire’s comic book, the development focused on shifting the source material's "dark and gritty" tone into a "hopeful, fairytale-like" live-action adaptation.

Scientifically, the "sweet tooth" is a biological preference for high-energy foods that evolves from birth.
